We are thrilled to have Ryan Glover Harrison as the school’s Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice. Ryan joined DVFriends in in the 2020-21 school year and is deeply engaged in working with students, families, faculty, staff, and trustees on programs and initiatives to raise awareness, encourage dialogue, and build community around issues of diverse identities and work to break down barriers to full equity and inclusion for all, both within DVFriends and in our broader communities.
The Dragonfly Psychological Associates Team has developed a two-part workshop for parents to help develop a plan to make the summer meaningful, productive, and safe. Although we live in an unprecedented time, research can help identify effective ways to manage the unique stresses of this summer and maximize the potential for growth in children and teens.
All middle school science classes worked, during live virtual class time and independently, on an engineering project to construct a wind turbine that provides the greatest power output. Then they created a proposal to power their school with a wind turbine farm.

The DV Original Musical, Three Roads Home: A Post-Apocalyptic Family Drama, opened for one night only on Friday night, March 13, 2020. This was the 5th annual Musical production. Directed by Khalil Munir, an award-winning actor, and DV alumnus, about ¼ of the school--52 DV students were involved as writers, songwriters, cast, band, or crew.
The DV SeaPerch team and their teacher Megan competed against 23 other Schools at the 2020 Regional SeaPerch Challenge and won four 1st place trophies!
DV Alumna Toby Tomlinson Baker received the Harrison Sylvester Award, a national award for research of learning disabilities by someone with an LD.
The gift from the grandparent of an alum establishes a new endowed fund to support financial aid for DVFS students.
