Sailing Nassau, Bahamas
In December 2021, the ABLE Program sailed the Bahamas for the first time. Captains Ian and Nancy have been running student sailing programs in the Exumas for years and they know all the best places to go. Swimming with the pigs may be popular, but it is not on the list of the best places to go. What is on the list of possible locations that the group can sail to include: Norman’s Cay snorkeling the plane wreckage, walking along the beach with iguanas, snorkeling into tidal caves, and swimming with the sharks at Compass Cay. The crew will live on board the Bahama Star, a 60-foot Wellington sailboat. The students (crew) will be responsible for sailing from one location to the next, helping to prepare the meals, and keeping the boat ship-shape.
