Sue Russo

Sue holds a BFA from Michigan State University with an emphasis on drawing. She is certified to teach K-12 Art, K-8 Elementary Education, K-12 Special Education, Middle School Math, Middle School Science, and Middle School English. Sue has had the good fortune of teaching students of all ages in both the USA and Italy. While in Italy, she taught English as a Second Language to both adults and children. She was also a mother-tongue English teacher at a technical high school. One of Sue’s fondest memories is the time she spent teaching art at the International School of Turin in Torino, Italy. Not every art teacher has the opportunity to walk outside of the school gates to take their upper school students sketching in a town rich with Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. Upon returning to the United States, Sue taught second grade at The Crossroads School and then middle school English, language arts, math, and science at The Vanguard School. In 2017 she found her home at DVFriends, where she taught English, language arts, social studies, and science in middle school before stepping into her current position.
