Khalil Munir

Award-winning actor, dancer and instructor, Khalil A.M.R. Munir has proven himself to be more than just a promising talent—he is a visionary, young creative artist, and author whose awe-inspiring dance and remarkable stage acting continue to rouse an array of audiences. Those talents have culminated in a career-making role in 1 Pound 4 Ounces, the riveting one-man show combining impassioned storytelling with music and improvisational tap dance. Khalil joined DVFriends in 2015 as our Theater & Movement Teacher. Khalil teaches all 3 of our divisions to love the stage through acting, dance, and performance. He also serves as our creative director on the annual DVFriends musical, leading students through the process of writing and acting every year.

With a goal of touching parents, educators and children alike, Khalil is the proud author of The Crown is Yours, 3 book motivational childrens' series. From this book series sprouted an interactive youth workshop, The Crowns Corner. This workshop brings Khalils journey full circle, as he gets to educate, entertain, interact and build the confidence of all that encounter any of these works.
