Tax Credit Giving

Turn your PA state taxes into scholarships for DVFriends students!
If you or your company pays taxes in Pennsylvania, you can support DVFriends students with financial need through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs.
This fantastic giving opportunity returns a 90% state tax credit on contributions made for two years in a row to an approved scholarship organization. That is a dollar-for-dollar reduction of taxes owed, and is a great way to make a large gift at a very low cost - less than 10 cents on the dollar. Funds are earmarked for tuition assistance for families with financial need. Your tax credit gift enables more students to attend DVFriends and have access to a transformative education.
Individuals with at least $3,000 of PA tax liability per household can participate through the individual version of this program. DVFriends is a member of the Friends Collaborative, which has secured over $4M in tax credit funding and which facilitates involvement by individuals. Contact Anne-Marie McMahon in the Development Office at [email protected], or 610-640-4150, ext. 2152 to discuss your participation in an upcoming round. Check out this short video to learn more!
Businesses can participate through the corporate version of the program. Subchapter S-corporations and other "pass-through" entities will be able to use the credit against the shareholder, member or partners' PA personal income taxes. Timing is crucial: apply online through the DCED website by the deadline of July 1 every year (for new applicants) or May 15 (for returning applicants).
