DVFriends' Approach to Homework

Homework can often be a source of frustration and tension for students with learning differences and their families. Sometimes the volume of homework is overwhelming for students and they struggle to stay focused, complete tasks, and even turn in completed work. If students struggle to successfully implement the concepts in the homework assignments, that can often negatively affect their grades, making homework completion an even more high-stakes, stressful process. Parents, guardians, and even siblings spend a great deal of time trying to help, or, in some cases, completing most of the work for the student. Some students need so much extra time or even after-school tutoring to complete homework that they are unable to participate in other activities like sports or the arts. No one wins, and the effort leaves the student feeling more defeated and exhausted.

At DVFriends, we have a different approach to homework assignments and completion. Watch the video below to hear what research tells us about the best approach to homework especially for students who learn differently, and how DVFriends' approach may relieve some of that homework-time stress.
