Clubs and Activities

DVFriends offers students a wide range of opportunities to get involved in school-sponsored clubs and student government committees. The list of clubs is dynamic and based on student interests.

All upper and middle school students are welcome to join one or more of the student government subcommittees. Committees meet during Community Time.
Executive Committee
Made up of the student co-clerks of the upper school community government committees.
Activities Committee
Plans school-wide social activities.
Service Committee
Plans and organizes school-wide service projects.
Diversity Committee
The mission of the committee is to provide a framework upon which students and staff can build a community of inclusion without forfeiting one's identity. There are four groups under Diversity that focus on particular affinity groups. Anyone is welcome to join any of the diversity groups.
  • BSU (Black Student Union) considers issues of racial equality within our community and the wider world.
  • Gay-Straight Alliance is dedicated to promoting an atmosphere at DVFriends that is inclusive and accepting of all people regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation by increasing awareness and understanding.
  • Latinx provides unity and acceptance for all who identify as Latinx; provides education to combat stereotypes and fight ignorance; represents Latin culture at DVFriends.
  • Feminism Group seeks to educate themselves and the community about concerns that create an impediment to equality, such as wage inequality, educational inequality, and violence toward women.
