Ryan received her BA from Spelman College and her Master’s in Comparative and International Education from Lehigh University. She comes to DVFriends most recently from Southwest Leadership Academy and Mastery Charter Schools. An educator with 7+ years of classroom and administrative experience, Ryan’s work has focused on creating inclusive and equitable learning environments through the use of multicultural curriculum, culturally relevant pedagogy, and teacher training and coaching on developing cultural competency. Ryan also brings to DVFriends her experience as a trainer and facilitator in The National SEED (Seeking Educational Equity & Diversity) Project.
"I am excited to support DVFriends in reimagining what a truly equitable, inclusive, and antiracist community looks like," Ryan shared. "I want all community members to feel they can bring their whole selves to DV; which means the work is creating a place that supports and affirms all identities."

She has made great connections with colleagues, has a natural and wonderful way of interacting with kids of all ages, and has begun to ask important and insightful questions about our school and how we can best support students. She hit the ground running and dived into her work with the school at all levels, including students, parents, faculty, staff, and trustees. We have already learned so much from her and I look forward to continuing our community's work together toward realizing equity and inclusion for all.”
