Volunteer
Volunteering is a form of philanthropy and we love working with parents, alumni, alumni parents, and other community members to support bright students who learn differently.

Ways to Get Involved
Families Association
The Families Association (FA) is DVFriends’s parent volunteer group. We build community among students, families, faculty, and staff by organizing social events, supporting faculty appreciation, and connecting families with resources. Visit our Families Association page to learn more and get involved.
Founders’ Day Event
Assist with set up, break down, or help to run family-friendly activities at our annual community celebration. (October only.)
Senior Class Dinner Host
Host a potluck dinner for fellow 12th grade families. (January-February only.)
Lighting the Way Event
Serve on the planning committee or help us on the day of our annual fundraising event. (January-May only.)
Promote Philanthropy
Help the Philanthropy office with a variety of tasks including outreach to fellow class parents about the Annual Fund or helping with mailings.
Share Your Story
Serve as a speaker on topics such as Pennsylvania tax programs and parent philanthropy, or represent DVFriends at local events. If speaking isn’t your jam but you have a story to share, you can do so here: My DV Story.
Alumni Volunteers
Alumni are welcome to volunteer in any of the roles listed above. They can also serve as class ambassadors year-round or as panelists at our annual 100 Days to Graduation event each spring.
