Rachel Loeper

Rachel Loeper joins DVFriends in 2026 as Director of Philanthropy. She holds a B.A. in English/Creative Writing from Goucher College and an M.F.A. in Writing from Hollins University. Before coming to DVFriends, Rachel spent 17 years at Mighty Writers, where she served in several leadership roles, including Program Director, Education Director, Director of Operations & Impact, and, most recently, Associate Executive Director. She also spent seven years on the Board of Wissahickon Charter School, including two years as Board Chair.
Rachel is the author of publications on youth writing and out-of-school learning, including a chapter in Changemakers! Access and Equity in Out-of-School Time Education and an article in Afterschool Matters. When she learned about how DVFriends prepares students to share their stories and advocate for themselves, she saw strong parallels to work that has motivated her for years.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys reading and writing and loves camping—both cabin and tent camping—with her daughter and a group of friends they met during her daughter’s daycare years.
