Courtney Paulus

Courtney is a Lower School Lead Teacher who joined DVFriends in 2025. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.Ed. in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6). Courtney taught internationally for three years at TASIS Portugal in Sintra, where she served as a Grade 6 middle school math teacher and a Grade 5 lower school teacher, later becoming the head of curriculum and instruction for the Grade 5 team. After returning to the United States, she taught Grade 5 in the School District of Philadelphia.

Outside of school, Courtney loves playing and coaching volleyball — indoor, grass, and beach — and enjoys surfing with friends and family. She is currently working toward Orton-Gillingham certification and has completed training in Singapore Math, Problem-Based Learning, Multisensory Math, and The Writing Revolution.
