Kate Goodwin

Kate joins DVFriends this year as a Middle School Language Arts teacher. She earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Penn State University and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Reading Specialist: Literacy Leadership with Dyslexia Specialization at McDaniel University. Kate is a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner and Fundations certified. She taught for ten years at The Walden School in Media, PA, where she supported young learners and established structured literacy programs within a Montessori-inspired environment. She also has extensive experience tutoring middle school students with learning differences using the Wilson Reading Program. Kate has helped lead DEIB initiatives and presented to school communities about classroom practices that support equity and inclusion. She enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, gardening, paddleboarding on the lake, and relaxing at the beach. Kate is excited to join the DVFriends community.
