Katie McCain

Katie McCain is an Upper School English Teacher at DVFriends, where she has taught since 2022. She is a graduate of Westtown Friends School and holds a B.A. in English and Classics from Connecticut College, an M.A. in English from Georgetown University, and a Ph.D. in Television and Media Studies, specializing in Fan Studies, from The Ohio State University.

Before joining DVFriends, Katie spent five years teaching First- and Second-Year Writing at Ohio State, as well as a range of courses in film, literature, and game studies. She has published several academic papers in collections with McFarland, Lexington Books, CRC Press, and Wayne State University Press.

Outside of the classroom, Katie loves to crochet—often making handmade creations to share with her students.
