Sam Steinberg
Sam Steinberg is a Middle and Upper School Teacher at DVFriends, where he has been since around 2008. A native New Yorker, Sam teaches Middle School Social Studies and chairs the History Department. Before joining DVFriends, he taught at The Windward School in New York.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Sam holds master’s degrees in both Education and Special Education. He is passionate about understanding history, the human brain, literacy, and emerging technologies, and has been a leader in integrating new tools into the DVFriends classroom. Sam also developed the RUN note-taking system, a structured approach to learning from non-fiction texts. He has presented nationally at the National Business Officers Association Annual Meeting and the National Association of Independent Schools Annual Conference.
Outside of school, Sam is a devoted New York Mets fan.
