Sam Steinberg

Sam Steinberg teaches Middle School Social Studies at the Delaware Valley Friends School. He is a native New Yorker who, before coming to DVFriends, taught at The Windward School in New York. Sam is passionate about understanding history, the human brain, literacy, and emerging technologies, and leads in the identification and incorporation of new technologies in the DVFriends classroom. In addition to Sam’s teaching, he Chairs the History Department and has developed the RUN note-taking system, a systematic approach to note-taking from non-fiction text. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Sam holds Masters Degrees in both Education and Special Education, and is trained in the Preventing Academic Failure and Basic Writing Skills Programs. He has presented nationally at the National Business Officers Association Annual Meeting, and the National Association of Independent Schools Annual Conference.
